About My Practice

For nearly 30 years, I have been a trial lawyer, trying cases to both juries and judges. My experience spans civil and criminal matters in both federal and state court, and ranges from highly complex, multi-party litigation to simple, straightforward disputes.

Sample Areas of Experience

  • Wrongful death and personal injury

  • Fraud

  • Wrongful termination, harassment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress

  • Assault and battery

  • Shareholder and partnership disputes

  • Contract and real estate disputes

  • Prisoner civil rights cases

  • Class action employment cases

My Approach

The most valuable skill a lawyer can offer is the ability to take a case to trial. A client is underserved by an attorney who only settles cases and has never picked a jury, delivered an opening statement, examined witnesses, or presented a closing argument.

The reputation of being able to take cases to trial produces tangible results, more often than any other skill set in my opinion. A case prepared for trial carries greater value than one litigated only for settlement.

The second most valuable skill I offer is knowing which cases are not a good fit for my office. That can be for a variety of reasons. I will try to provide referrals.

My Background

I have recovered millions of dollars in jury verdicts as well as settlements for client. I have obtained acquittals for criminal defendants. I have also won defense verdicts for employers and businesses. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, I understand the legal system and its pitfalls from every side.

Peer Recognition

I am a member invitation only trial lawyer organizations, American Board of Trial Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers

I am also a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL), which limits membership to 500 fellows in the United States. A fellow is required to have extensive trial experience. The membership comitte solicits assessments from both former opposing counsel and judicial officers presiding over the candidate’s trial.
